Kerala the southernmost state of Indiais referred as “the favorite child of nature”. This is a narrow land sandwiched between blue Arabian Seaon the west and evergreen lofty mountains called Western Ghatson the east. Kerala is situated between 8º 8' and 18º 48' North latitude and 74º 4’ to 77º 50' longitude in the southwestern region of IndianPeninsula. It has an area of about 38863 square kilometer which accounts for about 1.2% of the total geographical area of the country.
